The Halstead at Walter Reed and Columbia Pike

The Avalon (which was originally named The Halstead) is within Columbia Pike's Town Center. it's at the corner of South Walter Reed Drive and Columbia Pike. It is a very busy area with some interesting resturants and businesses within the same block. It's right across the road from Pike Park and within a block of Penrose Square which is the Town Center's main square. The Arlington Cinema 'N' DraftHouse is across the street on Columbia Pike. This area's walkability is 91 and is listed as a Walker's Paradise.
The Halstead Building ( Columbia Station) was the first Columbia Pike Form Based Project approved (June 12, 2004)by the HALRB and County Board after the adoption of the Form Based Code in 2003.

The tenants with frontage on Columbia Pike include P. Brennan's Irish Pub, The Lost Dog Cafe and ABC Liquor.  The facade from the Arlington Hardware Store at 2910 Columbia Pike , which is now Brennan's, has an Historical Designation; when the Halstead was built this facade was preserved. more on this block

The tenants with frontage on South Walter Reed Drive are Joule Wellness Pharmacy at 1028 and DBC Hair Salon at 1024. The lobby for the Halstead Apartments is also in this block. At the moment there is a vacany for a business at the end of the block.

Arlington Free Clinic

The Arlington Free Clinic faces 11th Street and takes up most of that side of the building . It was orginally in the space that is now Lost Dog Cafe and ABC Liquor.

Across the road on S. 11th is the BB&T Bank. 
Pike Park Across Walter Reed is Pike Park . It is between S. Walter Reed and S. Edgewood. In front is the Million Dollar Busstop. Behind Pike Park is the Rite Aid Pharmacy.
